In today's healthcare system, over 50% of family physicians are experiencing burnout and difficulties delivering high-quality care to complex patients due to added administrative burden and cognitive load. Providing tools and resources to alleviate this burden is crucial to enhance efficiency, satisfaction, and patient care. The rapid advancement of AI, particularly in large language models (LLMs), has the potential to tackle healthcare’s biggest burdens.
CARM&A Health Inc. is an Alberta-based start-up company that was established in 2020 when two primary care doctors decided to take the “bull by the horns” and challenge the status quo. Co-founders have combined clinical expertise of over 30 years in complex care management and training healthcare providers. Leveraging this clinical "know-how" and "training" LLMs for healthcare applications, the company strives to improve quality and efficiency of primary care. We see the technology as an integrated member of the healthcare team, supporting both patients and providers to optimize care.
